Holly Ward - Art

Holly Ward

Original artworks, cards for all occasions, tea light holders and much more!

I paint original watercolours, specialising in flowers, mostly wildflowers, from the countryside. I have greetings cards, postcards, original paintings and prints. I love the countryside and have a wide knowledge of the wild plants and flowers that grow in the UK and how they were used in times past for medicinal purposes. I paint obsessively to capture as much of the beauty around us as I can.
With all its pain and drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Desiderata.

I also love to paint in oil and have painted many commissions of landscapes, seascapes, and floral compositions. I am open to commissions and always happy to discuss what youd like, I recently sent painted wall tiles to Texas and live painted cosmetics bottles for a luxury brand. As long as its flowers or the countryside Ill paint it!

I have been painting for many years and Im from a long line of artists. My grandfather John Strevens RA was a regular Royal Academy exhibitor and travelled around the world painting portraits, flower based commissions and Impressionist style whimsical compositions. My Aunt Josephine Strevens Weir was also a wonderful watercolour artist.

My work includes:
- birth flowers often with the persons name in calligraphy,
- initial letters with flowers twining around,
- floriography compositions (the language of flowers)
- greetings cards, oil canvases, acrylic, glassware and wall tiles.

All flowers have meaning for different people so I take commissions for special gifts or occasions.
