I make unique functional and decorative homewares using the wet felt process
I love to create unique and functional pieces of table art using the medium of wet felting. The process that I enjoy is to make each object in one piece by laying wool fibres around a resist and with the help of a lot of soap, water and good old elbow grease creating a sturdy felted fabric. This means that there are no joins or seams within the piece.
I have explored the possibilities using these techniques and have created simple bowls, textured bowls, oven mitts, fairy lights, tea cosies and bird sculptures. I have been inspired to develop the range of tea cosies as an opportunity to offer a unique piece of felted art that also serves a very useful purpose. I sometimes also use needle felting, embroidery and embellishments to create richly textured pieces.
I usually only make one of each particular design but I am happy to show photographs of items that I have already sold and to make pieces to order
I hope you enjoy my work
