My Mantra is No Trip to the Tip !
My cushions are completely one of a kind and unique. You will never visit your friends house and see your ideas replicated. Each cover is handmade using fabric from pre-loved clothes and curtains (both either given directly to me or bought in a charity shop), roll ends and discontinued fabric pattern books. The cushion inners are made using cleaned, used bedlinen or lining. The hollowfibre filling and zips are upcycled as much as possible but I do also buy new. The piping cord is always new. Each cushion has details of where all fabric pieces came from. I find that my customers really like to know more about the items history and personality.
Having spent a couple of decades sewing within the home decor industry I am keen to see less wastage and live a more sustainable, environmentally friendly life and by switching to producing these unique items, I feel much happier during my working day.
In addition, I do offer a service whereby I make a cushion out of a loved ones old jumper. For example, as a way to remember a deceased family member, or to remember a growing childs favourite garment.
