Combining a love for wildlife painting with elements of magical realism and surrealism to portray wildness and whimsy.
I am a visual artist/painter/illustrator from Scotland looking to connect with the UK craft and makers community. I sell my original paintings through galleries and directly to private clients, but I really enjoy getting out to fairs with my prints and cards to meet people and other artists/crafters. Most of my time is spent working alone in my studio or print workshop, so the few weeks a year I do fairs make a fun change for me. Hopefully this year well be able to do in person events again!
I will generally only have my limited edition prints (signed and numbered), greetings cards, calendars and printed journals for sale here and at fairs. If youre interested in my original pieces please feel free to get in touch.
My work combines my love for the natural world, wildlife, human-animal connection, mythology, archetypes and story-telling, with a twist of surrealism/magical realism. Superficially it appeals to a child-like vision of the world, but there are complex undercurrents which speak to many a common thread in human experience and seem to resonate strongly with people of any age, culture or background. I collaborate with a lovely company in NI called A Place to Wonder, making books and activities to facilitate young children in learning skills to cope with anxiety. My work is used in the blogs and websites and practice rooms of many therapeutic practitioners around the world as aids to their therapeutic work.
