Not Sew New , started with a request to make a keepsake, memory item for a friend from her husband’s silk ties. Conscious the ties were a treasured and emotionally valued items, I wanted to be confident the finished item would be perfect. I therefore bought a number of pre loved ties ... once the ties had been unstitched and dismantled, a beautiful piece of silk is exposed and then the magic of coordinating the ties to produce the multi-colour way , Silk Infinity scarf. Due to the fact each tie is sourced by various means , the scarfs produced are bespoke and as individual as the person wearing it.

There are many ways these ties can be refashioned for heirloom keepsakes and I welcome enquiries to make individual pieces . These can be from a loved one or a special occasion as ties from a wedding party outfit .

This is all very much in its infancy as I imagination knows no bounds and any item of clothing can be considered.
