Double award winning business making gifts with a hint of goth
ResinExpectations began as a hobby, a desire to be creative, and do something that was just for me, whilst running the bar at a social club.
Ive always been creative, and I moved to Farnham, Surrey, back in 1995 to study at the Art College. Having subsequently gained a degree and masters in Design Management, my career took a change in direction, and I have worked in hospitality for most of my adult life. I was never long without a creative hobby, though.
Working with resin has become so much more than that, I use it to not only express myself, but help others do the same.
In addition to resin I use polymer clay, cardstock, sublimation, vinyl and heat transfer vinyl, as well as colour - to allow my clients to express the goth they have been keeping secret, in as bold or subtle a way as they feel comfortable doing.
Every item I sell is hand crafted by me. You can find examples of my work on Instagram and Facebook. I rent a space in the Camberley branch of the Craft Coop, Wallababies in Farnham, and The Crafty Shed in Bordon. I attend events throughout the year, including craft markets and music festivals.
As well as being the owner and sole maker at ResinExpectations, I became a published author (with a chapter in Crafting in a Crisis compiled by Chrissie Lowery from Shop Handmade) during Lockdown.
ResinExpectations has become a double award winning business, including the title Queen Of Steampunk Gifts from Aqua Design Group.
