Handmade stained glass: flowers, plants, animals. Fused glass jewellery (earrings and pendants). Fused glass windchimes on driftwood
I make stained glass art using Tiffany style technique. I have always loved glass art and when living in Seattle, Washington (a state with a lot of glass connections-think Chihuly) I did some courses in both stained glass and fused glass. I started off doing it as a hobby and then became a regular stallholder at Fremont Sunday market in Seattle. I have now set up my workshop in West Hanney near Wantage, Oxfordshire and am happily making more .
I cut the pieces following a pattern and copper foil and solder the pieces together. The soldered piece is then sealed with patina and waxed to leave a protective shine on the glass. My pieces are custom - made so the customer can choose colours, style and dimensions.
I specialise in suncatchers, potted plants and animals. I can also make more abstract pieces. I have experience of doing panels which can be hung in a window.
To make my jewellery, I cut the pieces, fuse them in a kiln (this can take up to 12 hours) and then attach sterling silver hooks. Each pair of earrings is unique.
