Welded metal sculptures based on birds and animals made from upcycled tools, cutlery and other metal objects.

I am an artist working in metal. I use upcycled metal objects such as tools and cutlery to create sculptures based on nature particularly birds and animals, I am interested in our relationship with nature particularly in how we borrow ideas from the natural world. My designs usually start from a sketch of a bird or animal but also I sometimes find a particular object in a second hand shop and can visualise it becoming something else. For example vintage cutlery reminds me of peacocks tails and bike gears might be the starting point for an octopus, therefore I am always referring to both objects and nature when designing my work.
