Individual, unique and handmade jewellery from Art Clay Silver

Hi Im Sandy and I started making jewellery from Art Clay silver around 2019 and have been absolutely hooked since. The Art Clay Silver contains tiny particles of silver reclaimed from industrial use, bonded together with an organic binding agent and water to make a clay which can be shaped and formed. When fired in a kiln the binding agent burns off to leave a piece of 99.9 percent silver jewellery, a higher content silver than sterling silver.

I make necklaces, ear-rings, bracelets and rings with themes ranging from wildlife, fantasy, geometric, art deco and abstract. Some of the pieces have stones in them too. I am learning and developing all the time and have already taken several courses including 2 Diplomas in making jewellery from Metal Clay. As well as producing my own designs, I have taken on some commissions, which have been fun and rather challenging, including making a giraffe necklace for someones granddaughter, a Tudor Rose pendant and an acorn with oak leaves!

I also offer workshops for people to come along and have a go at making their own pieces of jewellery using this wonderful medium, creating their very personal, unique jewellery and it’s also from recycled silver! Workshops are full or half day (approximately 6 or 3 hours long) in the beautiful village of Barrowden in Rutland.
