Genuine Seaham seaglass and silver jewellery designed and handmade in my North Yorkshire studio

My name is Karen. I design and make silver and seaglass jewellery. I am based in North Yorkshire by the coast and collect the seaglass I use in my jewellery from local beaches.

I like to use genuine Seaham seaglass in my jewellery, it was created when, over 100 years ago, the Victorian bottle factory in Seaham would tip all their waste glass into the sea at the end of the day. Today, the sea has tumbled this discarded glass into beautiful, smooth treasures. The ‘Seaham multi’ is famous the world over as it’s very rare with colour swirls, spots of colour or layers of colour. They are a finite source and becoming rarer by the day.

I forge my jewellery by hand in silver and copper, each piece is unique. I set the seaglass to make earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. I also have a range of silver and silver and copper geometric designs. I will also accept commissions.
