Handmade upcycled vintage jewellery and leather
I design upcycled jewellery and leather goods inspired by my Danish heritage combined with my love for creating individual styles for individual personalities.
I am passionate about reducing waste so the principle behind my business is to re-use and upcycle old and broken jewellery and team with vintage pieces typically sourced from local charity shops. Haberdashery and fabrics are also sourced from charity shops wherever possible. This guarantees that all pieces are unique and designed specifically around each centrepiece.
I will at times go to extremes to upcycle and recently rescued a three piece leather suite on its way to the tip. I stripped all the leather of this, cleaned and treated it and also managed to find use for the foam and springs... the wood made a lovely evening bonfire, and nothing ended up in a landfill!
I have always loved fashion, been keen on craft and been very individual when it comes to clothing and jewellery and when, due to illness, I had to give up on my corporate career it seemed the perfect idea to combine all those things along with reducing waste and . The full inspiration came when I inherited a lovely pearl brooch from my great grandmother and as I wasnt a great user of brooches I managed to find some pearls in a charity shop and converted the whole thing into a vintage necklace that I wear all the time... and that was the catalyst into the adventure called vintagelovebytrine that I pour all my spare time and love into.
