I love creating beautiful new things from old silver.
I hate waste so have specialised in upcycling old silver. Most of my work involves taking silver items that are no longer in general use (cutlery, napkin rings, toast racks etc) and /or broken jewellery, and using it to create new pieces. As much as I can, I keep the existing decoration and incorporate it into my work. This means that every piece is unique as I have combined my work with that of a silversmith from the past.
I also do commission work, using broken or old pieces of jewellery that perhaps have sentimental value, and making them into something that can be worn again.
Ive been making jewellery since I was a girl. Over the years I have restrung beads, learned how to hand knot and done cold silver work. A few years ago started my silversmith training in Birminghams jewellery quarter. Ive done further training with a jeweller on the Wirral. I continue to experiment, adding new techniques to my repetoir of skills.
