Painter and illustrator

I am an artist illustrator and had successful exhibitions in various parts of the country including Keswick Cumbria, Warwick Birmingham, Solihull well as several exhibitions in my home town Alcester Warwickshire. I am a qualified teacher of art and have taught in London Birmingham Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Prior to my career in teaching I was a full-time professional illustrator. I am now retired which gives me more time to pursue my own work. Im very keen to exhibit my work craft fairs and exhibitions.
I work in a variety of media. Oils , watercolours , mixed media I have also developed what I think is a fairly original method of painting with inks even making my own inks from traditonal natural materials
I havent any one fixed style or subject matter if only for no other reason than that I would soon get bored doing the same things over and over. Some of the work I do is best done when it is warm and the inks dry quickly. A lot of what I do is quite experimental and can be very hit-and-miss often taking me two or three attempts to get the effects Im looking for.
During the winter months I work indoors with oils or dry media.This year or exampleI did a long series of chalk and charcoal drawings of Japanese sumo wrestlers
