Wood Wonders by Shelley Jo

I like to take any old wood and turn it into something creative and fun.

I completely love wood, old reclaimed, pallets - any wood. I love working with pallet wood in particular. Once stripped down I turn it into fun and creative decorative items from my pencil holders which Ive named Tidy Bots, Robot key ring holders aptly named Fob Bots and odd shaped robots called Buddy Bots. This is just one of the ranges I play with. I also make candle holders, plaques, mirrors and clocks plus pretty much anything that pops into my head - I love making people with driftwood - basic but cute. I love to see the grain in wood - there is always a picture there somewhere. This is only a hobby for me and not a business - I find working in my workshop with my beloved misshapen and unloved wood a perfect remedy for sustaining a happy and healthy mental heath. Often the items I make just make me smile (and often giggle) when I look at them. I am my own worst critic and am always amazed when people buy my items - but that in itself is a wonderful feeling. I work full time in a stressful management position and this is the other side of my life that keeps me grounded and helps to promote a wonderful positive outlook on the beauty of life.
