Mick johns Woodturner

hand turned items by an old school craftsman turning since 1982

I served an apprenticeship as a carpenter back in 1975 but from a very early age I took an interest in woodturning and the passion for this is as strong know as it has ever been I love to be creative doing one off commissions such as vases or bowls at the same time I am just as happy doing a production run of 100 spindles for staircases or furniture I turn any thing from a lace bobbin to a newel post I look forward to those one off commissions that test my skills as a turner timber is a very tactile medium and has so much character any thing that can be turned I will turn pens, bowls, vases, pepper mills, lamps stands, trinket boxs, light pulls,
earing stands, just to name but a few if there is anything that you want just ask if it can be done I will do it. I pride my self on providing a quality product that you would be proud to own. the wood I use is native to Britain and is bought from sustainably managed woodlands I also use a small selection of exotic hardwoods mainly with the smaller items .
