Lizzie Perkins is a professional watercolourist and printmaker whose main interest is in wildlife.
Inspiration is drawn from life and each field trip involves hundreds of photographs from which a mix is constructed to give the best composition. Suitable backgrounds are then created to enhance the idea of mood and habitat until a balance is achieved.
In her work there is a recurrent theme of safari animals along with a significant study of wolves at a wolf walk in Berkshire where three ‘socialised’ (not tame) wolves walked alongside with their handlers. This and many other studies form a collection of original limited edition screen-prints, watercolours, framed prints, and greetings cards, along with large-format giclee reproductions in open edition posters.
Animal designs are also available in life-size vinyl wall decals and these have the further option of being mounted on to painted and contour-cut mdf to create attractive art reliefs.
Only the best materials are used - artists quality pigments and 300lb hot-pressed papers for long-lasting strength and colour.
