The Spinning Barn Hand Spinning Workshops

Specialising in beginners the workshop covers all aspects of the craft. Held on our smallholding of rare breed sheep in Norfolk.

I offer Hand spinning workshops which are designed for beginner spinners but are suitable as a refresher too. Held on our smallholding in rural Norfolk but close to Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire border offering ease of access. Workshops are held on dates to suit including weekends and weekdays. Very small groups to ensure my full attention. You will learn about the qualities of various wools and their potential uses and how to prepare, spin and ply your wool into a skein of yarn to take home. The day will be fun and relaxed but with a lot to learn. You can meet our beautiful rare breed North Ronaldsay sheep too.
We also have a range of fibre craft equipment available to buy or order, all of which are hand crafted on the smallholding by my husband James. Items include drop spindles, lazy kates, niddy noddies and much more. Our masterpiece is our very own Spinning Barn Drum Carder to speed up the fibre preparation process.
