Willow Christmas Decorations

Spend a festive day at Hawkwood making beautiful natural decorations to adorn your home. Projects include willow stars in different sizes, spiral hanging decorations, willow trees, and wreaths which can be laden with foliage for your front door. Participants can choose their projects but will go home with several finished items to decorate your home with this Christmas.
We will be using different colours and varieties of willow from Gloucestershire and Somerset. You will learn about safe tool use and how to prepare willow for weaving. There will be lots of techniques involved in making our decorations and these can be built upon for future willow work. You may choose to focus on making stars to give to your friends and family, or you may wish to take home a variety of decorations and a wreath base to bring a beautiful natural look to your festive decorating. Luxury velvet ribbon will be provided to hang your creations with.
