Medieval Fair

“Medieval Fair a craft and community fair on a historical theme”

Join St Andrews Church Soham and friends for their annual summer fair. This year we are looking to the past for inspiration, and encourage you to join us for a Medieval Fair.

The fair will celebrate the successful completion of the churchs latest building restoration project, supported by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and so alongside a traditional craft fair showcasing local craftspeople, artists and makers we will have professional heritage providers, offering living history, storytelling, archaeology workshops, hardhat tours, have-a-go archery, medieval music, greenwoodworking, falconry and much more besides...

The fair flows through churchyard and church, with indoor and outdoor pitches available to craft stallholders. The church is located in the centre of Soham, Cambridgeshire, just off the towns bustling high street and so benefits from passing trade (sure to be hooked in by our fighting medieval knights, and our bawdy puppet show!) This is an annual event, well supported by the local community.

Hosted by St Andrews Church you can be sure of a warm welcome. The church runs a popular tea and cake stall, with free hot drinks for all stallholders and good bathroom facilities. You may access the churchyard for loading and unloading and our friendly volunteer stewards will be happy to carry stock to and from your vehicle. There is an adjacent public carpark run by the local council with free parking and good sight lines to the church.

We are keen to support makers and their businesses - if you are just starting out, or getting back into markets, we will be a great fit for you! We do not have pitch fees, so there is no financial risk, but we ask for a 10 percent donation to the church on the sales you make.

If you have any questions at all we are very happy to speak with you.
