Open Day and Craft Fair 2023

Saturday, 20 May 2023 - 12:00 till 18:00

“Large village event with crafts and exhibitors”

Our event is now in its fifth year and takes place in and around the historic St Marys church in the centre of Buxted village. There are a total of 28 pitches, both inside (in the Church Hall) and outside in the extensive grounds and car park area. The event site is in the centre of the village and achieves a good footfall.

There are a total of 28 stalls and exhibitors. Crafts already booked include blown glass, ceramics, outdoor metal sculpture, needlework, cards and gifts. Our partners for the event are the local Claude Jessett Steam Preservation Trust, who will be exhibiting a showmans engine and fairground organ. A local blacksmith will be demonstrating his forge work.

A five piece live band will be in place mid-afternoon, playing a set of rock, blues and pop classics.

Children are well catered for with a steam miniature railway and bouncy farmyard.

Food and drink on site includes our ever popular beer tent, with local Harveys ales, and a BBQ.

Entry and parking are free, with donations welcome. All funds raised go to maintaining the three historic churches in the Parish of Buxted and Hadlow Down.
