Woodspring Wings Model Aircraft Club are staging their 30th annual weekend flying model air display on the 9th and 10th July at our airfield near Yatton, North Somerset. The weekend comprises of a 7 hour flying program each day of large (some very large) radio controlled aircraft, and a flypast each day by a full sized aeroplane from the RAF Memorial Flight, in the past few years we have had the Lancaster Bomber, various Spitfires and even the famous Red Arrows Display Team. Depending upon the weather we have a daily footfall of between 1,000 and 1,500 people. We have a large traders and exhibitors area, a food court, and the usual facilities such as toilets, FREE parking and overnight camping /caravan park. Traditionally, it has been a family friendly event with accompanied child under 16 years being allowed free entry. We also have an inflatable play area and a small model plane play area. This year for the first time we are providing a large CRAFT marquee that is divided into fourteen 3.5 x 2.5 metre pitches for hire over the two days, and includes overnight camping for free. There is no restriction on the type of goods sold or displayed, and there are no additional costs over and above the hire charge. This is a non-profit making addition to address requests from other traders and our public. So if you would like to join us please contact Adrian Turner using this website as soon as possible.
