This lively workshop will give you a basic understanding of the principles and practice of botanical contact printing [also known as eco printing].
After foraging for local foliage in the park and adjacent woodland, you will learn about the two key printing methods by: [i] steaming a scarf bundled with leaves, and [ii] simmering a stack of papers layered alternately with leaves. You will also learn about differences between leaves and between natural fibres in printing potential. You will learn about the roles of tannin, iron and other mordants in successful botanical contact printing.
So you will learn a lot, have fun with like-minded people in a lovely purpose build EcoPod, and take home some lovely prints and a scarf.
