Designing for people with disabilities

We are aware that some of our colour choices for the site can be a little difficult to read by some visitors to the site. We do not want to lose the traditional arts and crafts look to the site but are investigating ways to become at least - WCAG AA compliant, following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

We regularly test the site, to make it as accessible to all members and visitors of the craft community. We test the site against WebAIM to help us find any accessibility issues, as well as testing the general speed and usability of the site.

The site is xhtml transitional and html5, which in plain English means that we work to a high standard of compliance to help improve usability.

Creating a site that is fully compliant and usable by all is not an easy task. The more feedback we get, the better we can make our site and the more accessible it will become for all. So, if you or a friend is having any difficulty using the site, or have suggestions for improvements, we would be very interested to hear from you.
